Palo santo is a sacred wood in Peru and Ecuador. It has been used for healing, cleansing, and protection for hundreds of years. It is highly aromatic, especially when burned. 
The smoke of the palo santo can cleanse spaces and people. It is used like incense. Light one end of the stick on fire, and let the fire burn down naturally. It should only take a few seconds, leaving a smoldering ember that smokes for a short period of time. 

Always use caution when lighting palo santo. Do not leave it unattended, and make sure you have a fire-safe dish or holder that you can rest it in. 
 
These palo santo sticks measure approximately 3-4" long and were ethically sourced from naturally fallen wood in Peru.
